What is Comic Art Workshop?

The Comic Art Workshop is a not-for-profit organisation focused on supporting comics makers as they work on long form projects. 

Every two years, artists from Australia and overseas are invited to apply for CAW’s two-week residency, in which they travel to a remote location together to stay, eat and give and receive feedback on one another’s works-in-progress. This is a unique program in Australia (and in the world) and, since its inception in 2015, the residency has helped more than 30 cartoonists and resulted in the publication of twelve graphic novels.

What’s up with the tees?

The Comic Art Workshop is volunteer-run and needs some pocketbook love! These seven, limited edition t-shirt designs were created by workshop alum to help raise funds to keep CAW up and running, and are only available to order from Nov 28th to Dec 10th. And then they will be gone! Forever!

For every shirt sold, $35 goes directly to the Comic Art Workshop to help cover things like food, equipment, master artists and other helpers for the 2024 residency, while the rest covers t-shirt production and materials costs.
